Scarlet & Violet (2023–2025)

The Scarlet & Violet Era marks the beginning of a new generation in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Beginning in 2023, this era introduced the return of Pokémon ex, stunning illustration rare cards, and the Terastal phenomenon inspired by the Paldea region.

Sword & Shield (2020–2023)

The Sword & Shield Era brought the Galar region to the Pokémon Trading Card Game and introduced powerful Pokémon V, VMAX, and VSTAR cards. Running from 2020 to 2023, this era featured some of the hobby’s most iconic modern sets, including alternate-art chase cards, Trainer Gallery subsets, and stunning collector-focused artwork that helped fuel a massive resurgence in Pokémon card collecting worldwide.

Black & White (2011–2013)

The Black & White Era introduced the Unova region to the Pokémon Trading Card Game and marked the debut of Pokémon-EX cards. Running from 2011 to 2013, this era featured bold new card designs, full-art Pokémon and Trainer cards, and popular sets that helped shape the modern collecting hobby while showcasing many fan-favorite Pokémon from Generation V.

Base (1999–2002)

The Base Era marks the beginning of the Pokémon Trading Card Game and includes many of the hobby’s most iconic and collectible cards. Running from 1999 to 2002, this era introduced legendary sets such as Base Set, Jungle, Fossil, Team Rocket, and the Neo series, featuring the original 151 Pokémon and laying the foundation for the global phenomenon that Pokémon remains today.
