More Than Just Comics.
A Whole Lot of Nostalgia.
Welcome to Glass City Comics & Collectibles! We're Matt and Jess, a husband-and-wife team from Toledo, Ohio, who turned our love of comics, collectibles, and all things nostalgic into a business of our own.
What started as a fun idea between two collectors has grown into something bigger than we ever imagined. And the best part? We're still having just as much fun as when we started.
How It All Started
Matt has been collecting comic books, trading cards, and collectibles since he was a kid. Jess's collecting journey came a little later, when Matt jokingly pointed out that she didn't really collect anything besides books. That got her thinking.
Before long, she was discovering the excitement of collecting for herself, from comic book favorites like Gambit and the X-Men to Pokémon, vintage toys, and little pieces of childhood nostalgia. There's something special about finding an item you loved years ago and getting to experience that excitement all over again.
As our collections grew, so did our love of visiting local comic shops together. We'd spend time browsing, discovering new things, and talking about how much fun it would be to have a shop of our own someday. A visit to Universal Orlando's comic-themed area gave us another little spark of inspiration.
Those were the words Jess said that started it all. The idea was simple: start a little business on the side, share our passion with other collectors, and have some fun along the way.
In May 2025, Glass City Comics & Collectibles officially launched.
What began as a small online shop has continued growing, and so has our vision for what it could become.
Collectors at Heart
If there's one thing we've learned, it's that collecting means something different to everyone.
For some people, it's tracking down that elusive comic book they've been searching for. For others, it's finding a favorite childhood action figure, discovering a new manga series, or adding a beautiful statue to their collection.
Sometimes it's simply the nostalgia of holding something you haven't seen since you were a kid.
We get it, because we're collectors too.
That's why Glass City Comics has never been about just comic books. Our selection continues to grow with new and vintage comics, graded books, trading cards, action figures, statues, manga, graphic novels, and all kinds of pop culture collectibles.
We love discovering new things, revisiting old favorites, and sharing that excitement with other people.
The Little Things Matter
We're a small, family-owned business, and we want every customer to feel like they're buying from people who genuinely care.
We know how exciting it is to finally find something you've been looking for, and we want that excitement to continue when your package arrives.
That's why we take the time to carefully inspect, double-check, and securely package orders. We treat your collectibles the same way we'd want someone to treat ours.
You'll also notice that we like to reuse clean, suitable packaging materials whenever possible. It's one small way we try to reduce waste, and those little recycling stickers on our packages? That's Jess's personal touch!
We also believe collecting should be enjoyable and accessible. We work to offer fair prices, continually expand our inventory, and help customers find items that mean something to them.
We welcome special requests and enjoy helping fellow collectors track down comics, collectibles, and other hard-to-find favorites.
Whether you've been collecting for decades or you're just getting started, you're always welcome here.
Our Story Is Just Beginning
Glass City Comics & Collectibles is proudly based in Toledo, Ohio.
For now, we're an online-only shop, shipping comics and collectibles to fellow fans and offering free local pickup for customers in our area.
But we have bigger dreams.
What started as a fun little side project has grown into something we're incredibly passionate about, and we'd love to eventually open a physical comic and collectibles shop right here in Toledo.
A place where collectors can browse, discover something unexpected, talk about their favorite characters, and maybe even find that one thing they've been searching for since childhood.
Until then, we'll keep doing what we love: finding great comics and collectibles, adding new things to the shop, and sharing our passion with all of you.
Thank you for supporting our little business and being part of our story. We can't wait to see where it goes next!
